Tamara attended Hurlyvale Primary School from 1988 to 1994 and was a school prefect in Standard 5 (Grade 7). She then went on to Edenglen High School, where she was also a school prefect and house captain in her Matric year. She won Sportswoman of the year and the trophy for "Best All-rounder - Girl" for her academic and sporting achievements. At Edenglen, she was awarded full colours for cricket, softball and service as well as half-colours for netball and a team award for squash.
In 1995, she was picked for the Gauteng U19 Girls cricket team, at the age of 13. Jessica Paulssen
Jessica was fortunate to have been schooled at Hurlyvale Primary School in Edenvale and then Jeppe High School for Girls in Kensington. Having completed her Matric in 2001, she is now pursuing a career in Corporate Communications at Boston Business College in Bedfordview.
In her spare time, Jessica has enjoyed attending the House of Style Modelling School in Edenvale and is currently completing her teacher's course. She has participated in May fashion shows, both as a model and a compere, and has also assisted with choreography.
In 2000 Jessica began to enter modeling and beauty pageants, coming 2nd in Miss Christmas Masquerade 2000, 3rd in Miss Johannesburg SPCA 2001 and 2nd in Miss Edenvale 2001. Her highest achievement was being crowned Miss Teen Universe International 2001 at Sun City in October 2001. During the year of her reign, Jessica has been kept busy with many appearances for charity, fund raising and judging modeling and beauty pageants. Although Jessica plans to pursue a career in Corporate Communications, she intends to remain involved with the modeling and beauty pageant world in the future.
Jessica is passionate about many things, particularly racism and woman and child abuse. She believes that racism should be tackled at school level and that it's up to the youth to try and overcome the conditioning they have been subjected to.
