School Governing Body
The Hurlyvale Primary School Governing Body is a group of dedicated and concerned parents who, together seek to govern the school with their experience, mental strength, immense passion, unity as a team and strong leadership.
The SGB (School Governing Body) currently is made up of the following members:

The functions of the SGB include the following:
Through
strong business management promote the best interests of the school and
strive to ensure its development through the provision of quality education
for all learners at the school.
Adopt and
enforce the School Code of Conduct.
Administer and control the school property, building and grounds.
Prepare
and manage an annual budget showing detailed forecasted income and
expenditure analysis.
Enforce,
by process of law the payment of school fees.
Ensure
and maintain effective channels of communication between the SGB, staff,
educators, parents and learners.
They are
currently busy with the following major projects:

Quotes for the
stabilizing and filling of land at the end netball courts to prevent further
landslide.
Assisting in
governing and managing Harmelia Pre Primary school with the view to
eventually taking it over completely as a Section 21 company with direct
affiliation to HPS.

A lot of successes have been achieved
academically, culturally, spiritually, and on the sports field.
Furthermore the governance and financial management of the school remains
strong and consistent.
I can confidently state that the future is
bright for Hurlyvale Primary. Any
obstacles or challenges that present themselves will continue to be viewed as
opportunities to improve and make good, and with the passion of all
parents, children, senior management, educators, staff and fellow SGB members
Hurlyvale Primary will remain as one of the most sought after schools on the
East Rand, Gauteng and the rest of South Africa for that matter.
